When employees are disengaged, it can harm their job performance. They may exhibit less effort and motivation, and this often leads to a likelihood of the employee falling below their job expectations. Further still, disengaged employees are more likely to not turn up for work, or even make errors and defects in their work, which can ultimately affect the overall productivity and success of the company. With the potential repercussions of a disengaged workforce being employees orchestrating an untimely exit from the business, how can organisations surface, acknowledge and address employee sentiment to avoid employee detachment, boost engagement and power a happier, healthier, work environment?
The business benefits of utilising employee sentiments extend far beyond simply understanding your people better. If used impactfully they can drive employee productivity, experience, and engagement levels up and establish a stronger workplace culture. How can people leaders use employee sentiment insights available to them to gain an accurate understanding of engagement levels? Once insight is extracted, how is it best analysed to inform decision-making and action-taking?
